Ingredients:
- 2 ripe banana
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup peanut butter (or any nut/seed butter for allergy-friendly options)
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips or dried fruit (optional)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, skip for children under 1 year)
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
-
Mash the Banana: In a medium-sized bowl, mash the ripe banana with a fork until smooth.
-
Mix Ingredients: Add the rolled oats, peanut butter, mini chocolate chips (or dried fruit), honey (if using), and a pinch of cinnamon to the bowl. Stir until all the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is sticky.
-
Form Bites: With clean hands, roll the mixture into small, bite-sized balls. If the mixture is too sticky, wet your hands slightly before rolling.
-
Chill: Place the energy bites on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate overnight.
-
Serve: Once chilled and firm, the Banana Oat Energy Bites are ready to serve. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Optional: Cover them in melted chocolate, then refrigerate them again for at least an hour till the chocolate is nice and crispy.
